The Cultural Empathy Media Project is a participatory action research project and experiential educational resource. This space was created to center the voices of folks with marginalized identities and to facilitate the development of cultural empathy through better understanding how media representation shapes perspectives of ourselves, others, and relationships from a critical, intersectional lens.
We conducted an initial survey asking folks to speak on their representation in popular media and how that media impacted them, emphasizing the expertise that comes from folks being able to speak on their own lived experiences.
